South-South Leaders Disassociate Selves From PDM

BARELY one week after the registration of the People’s Democratic Movement (PDM), some leaders of the party in the South-South zone have disassociated themselves from the political party, which they described as an aberration.

A statement issued at the end of the zonal working committee meeting presided over by the Chairman, Chief Ejofor Onyia, the elders expressed dismay over the registration of PDM as a political party by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) without putting the necessary structures in place.

They alleged that members of People’s Democratic Party (PDP) registered PDM though not as a party but as a pressure group to fight for the welfare and well-being of the challenged members.

They argued that PDM should remain a pressure group within PDP as the members are determined to be faithful supporters of PDP.

The statement advised all members in the zone to work as a team in order to face the challenges ahead of PDP by giving total support for the re-election of President Goodluck Jonathan should he decide to run.
